Howie Busch, the creator of Dude Robe, had a pretty impressive resume even before appearing on Shark Tank. His experiences range from attorney and pro sports agent to World Series Poker deals and UFC affiliations. Although Shark Tank producers reached out to Howie about appearing on the show via a Twitter message (which is a rare occurrence), How calculates that getting onto Shark Tank is 20 times harder than getting into Harvard Law School! (40,000 people apply for Shark Tank and only ¼ of 1% actually make it to air.)

Dude Robe was barely a company when it appeared on the show and, although Howie didn’t get a deal, the company has exploded in growth since the episode aired, with pro athletes endorsing the product and licensing agreements in the works.
